My Story

kaleigh turick Kaleigh Turick, LPCC-S, PMH-C

Kaleigh completed her bachelor’s degree at Edinboro University, now PennWest University. There she studied Psychology and had a focus on community health stemming from her experience as a behavior specialist for a local agency. From there, Kaleigh obtained her master’s degree from Gannon University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While attending Gannon, she was able to complete her internship and practicum placements at community mental health agencies providing diagnostic assessments and on-going counseling, both individual and group. After schooling, Kaleigh worked in home with families to support problematic/disruptive behavior and communication/parenting difficulties. Kaleigh then became lead clinician at a crisis residential facility providing therapy to patients who were typically suicidal, homicidal and/or psychotic in addition to a part time private practice prior to her move to Cleveland. While working within these various agencies, she achieved her supervisory credential thus supporting and mentoring other professionals to provide effective care.

Kaleigh has worked extensively serving those patients with chronic mental illness of all ages. She completed additional training in working with couples and families; specifically, training in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy. She specializes in working with teenagers, parents, couples, and those within the LGBTQ+ community. She is sex and kink positive in her practice; she is currently enrolled in the Sexual Health Alliance Sex Therapy Certification program to further bolster her ability to support all aspects of her patients’ health. She assists individuals in their coming out process as well as providing gender affirming surgery evaluation letters when applicable.

Kaleigh utilizes a strength-based approach along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques and will curate treatment for each patient she supports. When not working, she enjoys sci-fi and comedy, finding herself weaving this into her patients’ treatment—laughter is the universal language after all.
